Hérisson Waterfalls
At the heart of the lake region, the "Hérisson" has it source at Saut Girard. Saut Girard.
This torrent, formed from the waters of the lakes of Bonlieu and Ilay, offers no less than 31 jumps and 7 waterfalls. the largest set of waterfalls in France.
This must-see site designed for walkers (7,4 km round trip), offers magical landscapes.

Baume-Les-Messieurs
It's impossible to visit the region without stopping off at Baume-les-Messieurs ! Nestled in the hollow of a spectacular valley, this small village of 200 souls is one heritage jewels of the Jura.
Linger in its narrow streets and its abbey, before taking the path to the tuff waterfall and cathedral-sized caves.
Baume-les-Messieurs, in the Jura, is one of the most beautiful villages in France. It promises you a full day of discoveries, whatever the season. In winter, the early morning mist and mysterious light make it look like straight out of a fantasy epic. In summer, the abundant vegetation and the bubbling of the cascade offer a refreshing and invigorating setting.

"Bellecin beach" is located on the largest lake in the Jura, lake of Vouglans, Ideal place for swimming, you will apreciate is water with can reach 24°C in summer. Pédalo rental... Dogs are not allowed on the beach.
"The Mercantine beach" is made of sand and lawn. It is supervised and equipped with picnic tables and is very popular with families in the summer. Ideal for swimming, you will also find a marina as well as rentals of pedal boats, motor boats, canoe...
"The Surchauffant beach" is a beach of sand and lawns, it is located near the Pont de la Pyle. Cruises, water skiing, marina, free launch and even picnic on tables...
Nordic site of Nanchez-Prénovel, Chaux des Prés, Les Piards
Nanchez, a new town located at the heart of Plateau de Grandvaux, brings together the towns of Prénovel, Chaux des Prés and Les Piards.
With more than 100 km of cross-country ski trails, each skier will find the trail adapted to his level: from the fun area to make your first cross-country ski tracks to the technical and longer back trail. There are also many marked snowshoe routes: you can criss-cross the spaces on either side of Nanchez.

Lake Chalain, with is the largest natural lake in the Jura. A small paradise with turquoise waters, the exceptional sites are surrounded by mountains, forests and rivers. Bonlieu Lake, a small glacial lake in the middle of a circus covered by forest, is certainly one of the most picturesque in the Jura. Take advantage of the tranquility of the place and the beauty of the landscape by going around the lake on foot, on horseback, by bike, or from the belvedere of the round. With its waters full os fish, this lake is also a fishing spot.
