The school of Montjouvent
The house is the former village school of Montjouvent in the Jura. The classroom was transformed into a living room, the headmaster's quarters into bedrooms, the entrance into a kitchen… This history-filled house could tell you all about the school of days gone by.
On the 1st floor (master suite and bathroom), the town hall used to be located — many weddings were celebrated there, our neighbours tied the knot here some sixty years ago. The 2 stone remains at the far left and right ends of the garden were the boys' and girls' toilets!
A haven of peace, in the heart of nature
La Maison Bleue is a detached house set in a peaceful, natural environment. Carefully renovated to preserve its old-world soul while offering modern comfort, it is the ideal retreat to disconnect and enjoy the fresh Jura air.
The Living Room
Originally, our living room was the school's classroom. The room is very bright, naturally cool in summer, with stone walls over a metre thick. We wanted to bring a warm and cosy atmosphere. Wood-burning stove for cosy winter evenings Library Large screen TV Netflix
The Bedrooms
The headmaster's quarters were located in this space. Master suite: Size: 30 m² King size bed Television Connected to the large bathroom Magnificent view over the Valouse valley Second bedroom: 2 single beds (90 x 200 cm) View over the meadows Both bedrooms include wardrobe and dresser storage.
The Kitchen
The high-tech fitted kitchen was completely redone in 2022. Full equipment: Refrigerator Freezer Oven Microwave Induction hob Kettle Toaster 2 coffee machines (Senseo and filter) Everything you need to prepare delicious meals in complete tranquillity. + BBQ also available for grilling in the garden!
The Garden
The 550 m² garden offers 2 orientations: Terrace side: Shaded terrace (former covered playground) Table and chairs Lawn and flower beds BBQ available Birdsong Murmur of the village fountain Back of the house: Reading & relaxation area Magnificent view over the Valouse valley + A gardener comes every two weeks for careful and discreet garden maintenance.
